レーベンス・ホールの庭園：努力しただけ結果はついてくる
レーベンス・ホール（Levens Hall）は、毎年の冬期休業ののち、2019年4月7日に再び一般公開されました。 ここで働く20名以上のボランティア庭師の一人として、春に向けての作業を休業中に庭に入ってすることほど楽しいことはありません。

この旅は、グラスミアの町にあるアーラン・バンク（Allan Bank）近くから始まります。そこは、かつて詩人ウィリアム・ワーズワースの住処の１つでした。そこから、曲がりくねり続くランクリッグ・ウッズ（Lancrigg Woods）のそばの道を進み、ハードウィックシープ（Herdwick sheep） がいる牧場を通り抜け、峡谷にそってピクニックに最適なイーズデール・ターン湖（Easedale Tarn）まで進みます。
